At Medicina, we are committed to achieving excellence in research and scholarship, and to ensuring that our research contributes to the well-being of society. The excellence and diversity of our research in Medicine, Technology, Cosmetology and Applied Sciences, Music Therapy, Nutrition, Yoga, Bioenergy, Ancient Sri Lankan Medicine, Art, History, Language & Culture means that in addition to our achievements in fundamental research, we are also well-positioned to make significant contributions to the global Integrative Medicine agenda.
We have identified many research areas to tackle challenges that can only be addressed by multi-disciplinary teams of researchers. Our aim is to provide academic leadership in these areas and to develop strategic partnerships with other research Institutes worldwide.
The department undertakes different types of research work in order to provide opportunities for students and staff at all levels to engage in research, an activity which the department values as a core activity and considers as contribution to the field of Integrative Medicine and allied sciences.
The Faculty of Technology brings together Departments of Research, Neuroscience, Psychology, Microbiology and Nanotechnology across a spectrum of subjects and disciplines aligned to the technological needs and requirements of today.
The research department is the university point of contact for these issues:
- Submission of research proposals
- Identifying sources of research funding, both inside and outside the university.
- Participation in, and initiation of, major inter-disciplinary university research programs and formation of research units.
- Clearance for research competitions that limit the number of proposals submitted by the University.
- Clearance for research competitions that limit the number of proposals submitted by the University.
